About Julie

Having qualified as a Sommelier in South West France in 2003, Julie briefly gained some work experience in a highly accomplished, beautiful and very classical restaurant to start her career. In 2004, she moved to Ireland to improve her English and to expand her International wine knowledge. Since then, she has been lucky to work with some of Ireland’s best chefs and also on some wonderfully interesting projects. 

Throughout this time, she enjoyed competing at national and international competitions, primarily as a way to keep challenging myself and also to keep learning in this ever evolving wine world. She won the Irish national competition on 3 occasions and in 2016, in Mendoza, Argentina, she finished 3rd at the ASI World Championships. 

In addition to wine, she is incredibly passionate about all high quality beverages and she has completed the WSET Diploma, the WSET Level 3 course in Sake and also studied at the London Tea Academy. 

She currently run her own business – Down2Wine, as a sommelier-consultant and wine educator. This allows her to work on many different projects simultaneously which she really enjoys.
